Resident and Community Services Department

The Resident and Community Services (RACS) Department was created to coordinate the Authority’s service delivery efforts.  RACS works to develop sustainable public and private partnerships that connect and provide social service programs and initiatives to ARHA residents from early childhood through senior years.  Our goal is to engage residents in ways that build their capacity to promote change in their own lives and take leadership roles in making their communities safe, healthy, and livable.

Currently, RACS operates programs in three centers: the Ruby Tucker Family Center, the Senior Center at Charles Houston, and the Ladrey Senior Activity Center, in addition to the Resident Opportunity and Self-Sufficiency (ROSS) Program and James Bland V Supportive Services which are based at 401 Wythe Street.  We welcome volunteers from diverse backgrounds and encourage ARHA residents with community service hours to consider giving back by volunteering at one of our RACS Programs or special events.
