ARHA to Host School Supply Giveaways Including Athletic Wear & Free Haircuts
Event at Samuel Tucker Elementary School also includes a vaccination clinic for students ages 12 and up, and their families
ALEXANDRIA, VA – The Alexandria Redevelopment and Housing Authority (ARHA) – in partnership with Firefighters & Friends To The Rescue - will host a backpack and school supply giveaway Sunday at two Alexandria locations: the Charles Houston Recreation Center and Samuel Tucker Elementary School.
In addition to school supplies, Hilco Global has donated over 2,500 pieces of athletic wear from Fanatics that will also be distributed to families.
Importantly, families will be able to pick up free face masks, and a COVID-19 vaccination clinic for students ages 12 and up and their families will be staged at the Samuel Tucker event. Free haircuts will be available at the Charles Houston event. And of course, there will be free ice cream.
“ARHA is thrilled to receive this generous donation of athletic items from Hilco Global and Fanatics,” said ARHA’s director of resident and community services, Gaynelle Diaz. “The athletic clothing is not only a wonderful addition to the backpack and school supplies that we are providing to our families, but it also fits in with the attire that most of us have adopted during the pandemic.”
